The Circle Game
To Sleep 1:30 AM Awoke 7:30 AM
It was just after midnight, finished up yesterday's blog and decided to go back into town, Sweetwater was busy an hour before with that private party, now it was closed, town was empty, so I didn't even make it 1/2 block then turned around.
The person who emailed me th e baby penguin photo yesterday, emailed me again, claiming she found me because she saw me on the cover of The Online NY Times a couple of days ago. I think she was joking. I couldn't find the picture,There was a feature article about me in The NY Times 7 years ago. It appears the on line NY Times doesn't have back-issues front pages, you have to search on keyword.
got a response about one of the more cheap, expensive style
microphones on CraigsList. I think it was for one of the $100 large
diaphragm microphones, $80 more than I can afford. This may get
confusing but it is frustrating and Craig take notice. If I respond
to an ad on CraigsList, be it a job or a microphone, and they email
me back, I don't know what ad they originally posted. CraigsList
automatically generates a scam artist alert header to each email that
goes through it's WEB site. Craig could put the ad number in the
header so when the person that ran the ad replies I can see from the
header in the reply what ad I responded to.
Laid down at 1:30 AM, usually I go right to sleep, I was still awake at 3:00 AM.
I am allergic to the sun. I first noticed this at around age 11. I was in a bowling league that played on Saturday mornings. Every time I was done bowling and left the alley, I would sneeze. I asked my mother, a Registered Nurse, if I had allergies? She said because I am blue eyed, that my eyes are sensitive and it makes me sneeze. She is right. I used to "Sneeze In Three's" but as I got older, it is up to four's. I just sneezed four times as the sun makes it feeble attempt to make it over the horizon. 9:30 the first actual sunshine of the day. At least in sunny. If you go the couple of blocks to the Depot Square, there will be many people. Make money!!!!!!
Was there for an hour, made a whole dollar, had fun as usual. Here some pictures:
new baby sprout came in today. It is a White Tulip. I remember
planting it where it sprouted, at the end of a row. It took 2 months
for it to sprout. Checking out Microphones, headphones, stands still.
I wish and hope that www.musicpeopleinc.com
replaces the defective microphone they made, that I have or I am
going to bad rap them on my blog. It would make things easier to have
a decent working microphone.
Things I forgot to put in yesterday's blog. I saw a guy walking down the street with two cellphones. I guess that is for talking to himself.
Yesterday, I also contacted Ben Krahne. He is a friend of mine. I decided to check out his WEB site to see if he is still around and emailed him. He got back. He used to have a trailer on the same property that I lived on in San Anselmo, 10'ish years ago. He does some real nice Country Music and has several CDs. I guess he is doing better as a carpet installer, because he bought a house in Fairfax and is kicking me down $50. He is working out some deal with Evander Holyfield where Evander is going to sing a song of Ben's called NASCAR Cowboy and try to make it the official theme song for NASCAR.
I went to the library to print up some more business cards and some music to The Circle Game by Joni Mitchell (lyrics at end of today's blog) and Heart & Soul by Huey Lewis. The Circle Game is such a beautiful song. I have problems singing it because I choke up and would start crying if I didn't stop singing. This would not be good while practicing it at The Depot Square. I hope this doesn't last. I'll toughen up and get used to the song. I made another whole dollar.
I rode my bike to the liquor store to get some Bugler rolling tobacco, my favorite. They had only one pack. On the way home, someone was dumping a cheap stereo with 3 watt speakers, 3 CD player, tape deck w/record and a AM/FM radio on the street corner. Road kill. It makes it easy to record tapes off the radio, which I like to do when I am on morning talk shows. Somehow I was able to ride it, my groceries, my backpack & ukulele home on my bike. Turns out the CD "Play" button fell off the switch mechanism, but was inside the case. I thought I could easily take the case apart and put the button back on the switch. Not, I can't figure out how to take the case apart.
This DeadHead guy gave me a ride hitchhiking into San Rafael the other day. I asked him what Dead song was nominated for a Grammy award. He didn't know it was Unbroken Chain one of the few songs written by Phil Lesh, the bass player. He said it was never performed live. He was almost right. There is a WEB site that allows you to enter a Dead song title and the program will tell you where & when any Dead song was played. It was played 3/19/95 at The Spectrum in Philadelphia. From the quotes from the audience at that show, some guy claims they played it 5 times that year and that was the only time it worked. Jerry died less then 5 months later on August 9th.
How can you tell a DeadHead has been to your house?
He is still there.
I napped between 7-8 PM, cooked & ate a habenero pepper supposedly hot spicy chicken sausage then went into town. Deadsville except D'Angelos was open. Had a cup of African fruit tea. Why is there always one real asshole in a crowd? I am sitting at the bar, again playing my ukulele, practicing Circle Game playing so quiet I can barely hear it and this guy from 25 feet away comes and complains to me about playing. I ask him if he can even hear me play, because I couldn't and the bar was pretty loud. He refused to answer me but did complain to the owner who with a shrug, mentioned to me that I should not play in his ristorante as I was leaving. Th jerk who complained could no way hear my ukulele.
While eating dinner, I did get an Instant Message from Lisa in Australia and she read my Blog and had some questions. I did not get to chat with her though directly. Now that she is single, she is not in chat too much anymore.
Circle Game By Joni Mitchell Yesterday a child came out to wonder, Caught a dragonfly inside a jar. Fearful when the sky is full of thunder, And tearful at the falling of a star. Chorus: And the seasons, they go round and round, And the painted ponies go up and down. Were captive on the carousel of time. We cant return, we can only look behind From where we came, And go round and round and round in the circle game. Then the child moved ten times round the seasons, Skated over ten clear frozen streams. Words like, when you're older, Must appease him, And promises of someday make his dreams. Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now, Cartwheels turn to car wheels through the town. And they tell him take your time, It wont be long now, 'Till you drag your feet to slow the circle down. Repeat Chorus So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty, Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true. There'll be new dreams, maybe better dreams, and plenty, Before the last revolving year is through. Repeat Chorus
