Open Mic At Smiley's

An All-Star Showcase of performers will celebrate the first year of the wildly successful Sunday Night Open Mike at Smiley's Saloon And Hotel in Bolinas. The anniversary party will be held on Thursday night, November 21 at 7:30 p.m. This is no cover charge.

The Open Mike nights at Smiley's have drawn a talented and eclectic group of performers from the first night that co-hosts Sarah Franklyn and Buddy Craig organized the weekly event. Their own group, The Deadly Nightshirts, opens the evening with a set of original music and covers ranging from Bakersfield to Belfast, country, blues, rock and Celtic.

The Open Mike sessions at Smiley's have been a venue for raw beginners to professionals trying out new songs the first year. The Showcase will include Pamela Laws of Seven Year Diary; Jezebel; a capello trio, John Casey, Bo Carpet and Enna Deer; and poets Xerxes, Pam Carey and Danielle Vantress. There may be other surprise appearances, because the Open Mike nights have been full of surprises. Mostly it's been a friendly crowd and a talented lineup.
