Chix-Pack And Pink Sabbath Aftermath

On Saturday morning, I was sitting on the sand with a cool breeze caressing my face, while sipping coffee and watching waves break. It was a wonderful end to a fantastic Friday evening.
At about 8 p.m. on Friday evening, I hopped in my friends minivan and headed to Bolinas to see Pink Sabbath and Chix-Pack playing at Smiley's. I relaxed with a Newcastle as people started to fill the bar and Pink Sabbath were doing their sound check.

BAM! Pink Sabbath launched into their set with blazing acoustic glory. For those of you not in the know, The Pink Sabbath is a four piece of folk fury with guitar, violin, accordion, bass and golden voices. There was a flute in there some whereas well. their set consisted of a blend of emotionally charged toe tappers to full-on foot stomping, get up and shake it numbers.

After many a good song, Pink Sabbath's set was over, so I grabbed another Newcastle and got situated for Chix-Pack. Heavy riffs and chunky chords fired through Smiley's as Chix-Pack brought their hard rocking punk skills to the captive audience. Jumping, dancing, grooving to the fury. With the beat sinking into my bones, this three piece cranked it up to eleven and brought the house down. The energy level was through the roof and I was having a blast.

The Chix-Pack set eventually came to an conclusion and it was time to get my drink on. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and closing time came too soon. I went to sleep grinning from ear to ear and woke up the same way. Thank you Pink Sabbath, Chix-Pack, Smiley's, and Bolinas for such a wonderful night.
