Martin Luther King Celebration

Marin County Youth are invited to a celebration honoring the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. During his lifetime, King sought to forge the common ground on which people from all walks of life could join together as equals to address important community issues. Service, he realized, was the great equalizer. As he once said, "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve."

In a service to our community, the MIYO Teen Center, Congregation Rodef Shalon, and other congregations in Marin County will be hosting a celebration honoring the life and work of Dr. King.

"I Have A Dream:" Living the Vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The event will focus specifically on the civil rights movement including a youth collage of the "I Have a Dream" speech, and his message to unite people around a common goal. It will take place on Sunday, January 12, 2003, 12:30-3:30 PM. The event will be free of charge and will be held at the MIYO Teen Center located at 1115 3rd Street in Downtown San Rafael.
