San Rafael artist & producer Jim Fox is taking a different approach to peace in the Middle East - music. Fox's friends in the band Lost At Last wrote a song called "Shalom Asalaam" a year or so ago. The band members use both Hebrew and Arabic words for "peace" in the title of the song as a call for unity and world peace.

The song is a lovely and calming combination of spoken word, technofied trance and traditional world music melodies. Lyrically, the band looks back at the years of war and forward to a new peaceful frontier. A cheesy "We Are The World" type tune it is not.

Fox has made it his mission to spread the song and its message around the world. He is in the process of translating and recording the song in every major language. Fox has already sent copies of the song to the PLO, Sharon & Bush and plans on sending more CDs to ambassadors and radio stations across the globe.

"Music is a common thing between everybody," Fox says. "If we get everybody in the world singing this song, there's got to be some kind of unity."
