Papers Stolen In Fairfax And San Anselmo

For the second month running 700-1,000 Coastal Post newspapers have been stolen from newsstands in San Anselmo and Fairfax.
Distribution Manager Craig Slater reported newsstands were suddenly empty after deliveries were made. "Normally the papers take most of a month to get picked up at our stands. For the last two months large numbers have vanished in just a few days, in one case, overnight," Slater said.
Slater added, "My initial response was to print a little card that says "What you are doing is illegal, immoral and against the Constitution. But then I concluded, "They already know that and don't care."

Publisher-Editor Don Deane observed, "From time to time we publish what some folks feel are controversial articles, particularly on the Iraqi Incursion and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Getting those articles out of the hands of readers may be the objective. Then again it could be any number of other whackos with strange and unknown agendas.
