Janina Madge Tobin was born to Jane and Howard Tobin on January 21, 1953 at Children's Hospital in San Francisco. She was the cherished only daughter in a family with four older brothers: Dennis, Patrick (CP), Brian, and Tim.
Janie's marriage was blessed with three wonderful sons, Toby, Luke and Patrick Nemec.
Janie was an eternal optimist who loved life, living and enjoying every moment. Her warm heart endeared her to her family, friends and co-workers. She experienced the greatest love of her life during her years with her "dear sweet Stephen" when they shared beautiful adventures and lovingly nurtured one another. Janie is also survived by her and Stephen's foster son, Joseph Williams.
On August 19, 2005, Janie passed away and returned to the loving arms of her patroness the Mother Mary. A quote from Janie, "This is our Mother Earth, she who enshrouds us with peace and love if we so choose to accept her grace. So please choose her grace. This love is overwhelming."
Her funeral was held at on Friday, August 26, 2005 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Bolinas followed by a Celebration of her Life at the Bolinas Community Center.
