JAN BURYN
By Submission
Jan Buryn, a long-time resident of West Marin and recently of Nevada City, died early Tuesday morning July 19th 2005 in an auto accident near Malakoff Diggings.
Jan was born April 22nd 1959 in San Gabriel CA to Ed Buryn and Joann Hughes, their only child. Jan is survived by her parents who both live locally, by sisters Sierra Buryn of Portland Oregon and Casimira Greer Buryn of San Francisco, her grandmother Joesphine Buryn (97) of Nevada City, former husband Kevin McCarthy of Allegheny, and a large extended family from coast to coast.
Jan Buryn was a wonderful example of an ordinary person of humble achievement who was nevertheless a great soul because she so full embodied human sweetness, unselfish love, extraordinary courage, and indomitable optimism for everyday life.
Jan lived life unafraid and free, always spoke her mind, and lavished family and friends with unabashed love. Her enthusiasm for living, her glowing personality, and her remarkable energy will always be remembered by those who knew her. Jan Buryn was an anonymous saint who walked among us for awhile, and we are blessed to have known her.
Her ashes will be shared among family and some returned to the earth at her favorite places.
