The Environmental Forum of Marin held it's Annual Meeting at the Spinnaker
Restaurant on Thursday, May 12, 2005.
At the meeting Green Fusion Design
Center in San Anselmo was presented the Golden Acorn Award by outgoing
President Susan Rusche.
The Golden Acorn Award began in 1994 when the Environmental Forum of Marin
decided to present an award on an annual basis to a local Marin business
that exemplified sustainable green business practices. The Good Earth
Natural Foods of Fairfax was the first recipient of this award, and this
year Green Fusion Design Center was selected to be so honored.
Green Fusion Design Center was founded by Greg Snowden in 2004, as a center
for eco-friendly furnishings for the home. It is a 4000 sq ft. design
center that carries flooring, bedding, paints, masonry heaters, countertops,
rugs, and many other toxic-free building products. It is also a gallery, a
resource for books on green building, and provides programs for the public.
Solvig Palm-Nicholls was elected the new President of the Environmental
Forum of Marin and will take office on June 1, 2005. The next Training
Program of the Environmental Forum of Marin begins on September 13, 2005.
Men and women from Marin are encouraged to apply now for thoses classes.
