Learn about becoming a foster parent at an information meeting offered by the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services. The next meetings will be held on Thursday, May 26 and Thursday, June 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Division of Social Services, located at 10 North San Pedro Rd., San Rafael, in room 1018. A social worker and a foster parent will describe the experience of foster parenting as well as the financial support and professional training which are available.
Foster parents provide temporary homes (usually for three to twelve months) to children of diverse ages. Foster parents may be male or female, single or part of a couple (married or not), older, and they may own or rent their homes.
