Haiti Halloween Benefit Oct. 31
Kevin
Pina, freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker, will show his most recent
video footage and discuss the escalating violence and repression against the
pro-democracy movement in Haiti. Kevin will also describe the devastating
effects of the Bush Administration's policy from the economic embargo to the
kidnapping of the democratically elected president. Pierre Labossiere of the
Haiti Action Committee will moderate the event and provide background
information on the US intervention in Haiti.
This program is sponsored by the Marin Interfaith Task Force on the Americas and the Haiti Action Committee. The venue is wheelchair accessible. A donation of
$5-15 is suggested; however, no one is turned away for lack of funds.
Refreshments will be served. Sunday, October 31, 7:00 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 9 Ross Valley Drive (at 4th St), San Rafael.
