Road Trip - On The Way Home
By Aaron Wiley
Ethan is currently in Tennessee and traveling very rapidly. He started from the east coast where I left off and traveled down to Kentucky and Tennessee. He is absorbing sites, scenery and enduring bicycle trouble. He has broken three bottom brackets so far as well as many other parts. This trip has been intensive on the body as well as the bicycle, but the pursuit continues!
His plan now is to head into Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and final destination is back home in California by the end of December. Will he be the same person?, or will his experience have
changed him for a purpose? I see him as courageous and a little insane. There's not many people that would do a voyage like he's doing. Much has happened since he left and people have changed.
He is currently riding in rain and enduring variations of terrain, flatland, rocks, cliffs and mother nature. He's been eating well, meeting people from just about everywhere and having the time of his life. Unfortunately this article will be short and sweet for the information I have is small but gives an idea of where he's been and where he's going. I am excited to see he's going to finish this quest.
This year has been full of quests for everyone and it's making for exciting dinner conversations. By the time he gets home he will have been through quite a few states and stayed in some pretty interesting places. In Kentucky he stayed in a riverbed and an abandoned barn. He's been utilizing the elements and using what nature has given him, the road and the will. What more do we all need in our voyages? As the time draws near he gets closer to the beginning of the trip or the end depending on how you view it. Congratulations Ethan , you're almost home and the trip was a success. Hopefully more next month!
